DIY Sunny Doll

Today’s DIY project is Sunny doll, aka teru teru bozu, it is popular in Chinese rural area and Japan. In the past people hang up the sunny doll to ask for a sunny day. They believe the sunny doll can stop the rain. Though it is superstitious, it’s still cute to make one and decorate the house.

Materials: 20cm x 20 cm white cotton fabric, mark pen, paper ball, and red velvet thread.

Step 1: Place the paper ball in the center of the fabric and close up four corners and make a big head of the sunny doll.

Step 2: Tie up the center with red velvet thread

Step 3: Draw the eyes and mouth

Final step: Hang up next to the window use the rest of thread.
